TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ROADS  Roads Act 1993 – Section 75  Roads Regulations 1994 - Article 12 Notice of Intention - Quay Street

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Galway City Council proposes to make an order closing:

Quay Street: From the Junction of Cross Street to the intersection with the exit from Leonardo Hotel. 

High Street: The section of High Street between its Junction with Shop Street and Cross Street is also to be closed to HGV traffic.

Period of Closure: 24/7 Monday 2nd October 2023 to Thursday 30th November 2023

Reason: Street Rehabilitation and Drainage upgrade works

Diversion Routes: Temporary diversion route will be in place via Mainguard Street, CrossStreet, Flood Street, turning left on to the R336 New Dock Street

to Merchants Road Lower and further right on the R336 continuing along the Spanish Parade.

Localised access will be maintained as permitted within the limitations of those within the existing pedestrianised zone.

Advance diversion signage will be in place prior to work commencing. 

Documents can be inspected at Reception, Galway City Council, City Hall, College Road, Galway, H91 X4K8, during normal office hours, from 9:00am to 1:00pm,

Monday to Friday. Objections to the proposed temporary closure may be submitted in writing to Mr Patrick Greene, Director of Services, Galway City Council,

at the above address, or by email to: roads@galwaycity.ie not later than 12 noon on Thursday 14th September 2023
