In accordance with Part XI of the Planning & Development Acts 2000 (as amended) and Part 8 , Article 81 of the Planning Development Regulations 2001-2026 notice is hereby given by Galway City Council of the proposal to provide a segregated high quality cycle route along the R339 Monivea Road Galway; entitled “Monivea Road (East) Active Travel Scheme”.

Galway City Honours Irish Men and Women who Died in Past Wars or on Service with UN Peacekeeping Missions

The Mayor of the City of Galway, Councillor Helen Ogbu, and Elected Members of Galway City Council participated in a moving remembrance ceremony to honour the Irish men and women who died in past wars or on service with the United Nations Peacekeeping, at the Galway City ceremony for the National Day of Commemoration in the University of Galway on Sunday 12 July 2026. This ceremony marks the 16th time Galway City Council has hosted this Remembrance Ceremony, which took place in conjunction with the Defence Forces and University of Galway.

Local Enhancement Programme 2026: Galway City Community Group and Organisations to Benefit

Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary TD, and Minister of State with responsibility for Community Development and Charities, Jerry Buttimer TD, announced the successful projects under the Local Enhancement Programme (LEP) 2026 on Thursday, 2 July 2026.
