SITE NOTICE

NOTICE UNDER SECTION 179 OF THE

PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT

ACT 2000, AS AMENDED

& PART 8, ARTICLE 81 OF THE PLANNING

AND DEVELOPMENT

REGULATIONS 2001, AS AMENDED

Pursuant to the requirements of Part 8 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001, as amended, Notice is hereby given that Galway City Council proposes to undertake the following development:

REHABILITATION WORKS TO BLACKROCK DIVE TOWER PROTECTED STRUCTURE.

Works include:

The summary of works proposed is as follows:

a)    Provision of handrails at steps and other potential fall areas;

b)    Provision of new handrails on approach to dive tower;

c)    Provision of new handrails in isolated areas of dive tower;

d)    Cleaning and repainting of existing handrails on dive tower;

e)    Replacement of damaged stairs;

f)     Grinding of damaged deck surfaces;

g)    Exposure of reinforcement under level 2 deck level, treatment of steel and spraying with concrete;

h)    Exposure of reinforcement at damaged columns, treatment of steel and spraying with concrete;

i)      Replacement of damaged handrails;

j)      Pouring of new concrete deck to regularise uneven surface and approach area;

k)    Provision of new gates to prevent access via internal stairs;

l)      Removal of paint to the concrete structure and repainting;

m)  Provision of signage;

n)    Provision of removable lifeguard shelter (summer months only)

Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection for a period of 6 weeks at the offices of Galway City Council listed below;

Plans and particulars of the proposed development are available for inspection or purchase at the Planning Office, Galway City Council, City Hall, College Road, Galway, during normal office hours (i.e. 9:00am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday) from the 27^th April 2017 to the 8^th of June 2017.

Submissions and observations with respect to the proposed development, may be lodged in writing and should be addressed to the Senior Planner, Planning Department, Galway City Council, City Hall, College Road, Galway, or by e-mail to planning@galwaycity.ie, before 4:00 pm on the 22^nd of June 2017.

Please note that no fee is required for the making of submissions or observations.
