The Galway City Council Recycling Centre provides a facility for residential customers of Galway City to bring and dispose of unwanted household or electrical items free of charge. Bring banks are large containers located at various points in the city where residents can dispose of glass bottles/jars and clothing. The type of items that can be brought to a bring bank depends on the containers at each location. Commercial outlets must deal with and pay for their own waste management/ recycling services.
Galway City Council, in partnership with Clean Coasts Ireland and Galway Atlantaquaria, recently celebrated Love Your Beach 2025, a vibrant three-day campaign held from 14–16 May across three Galway City beaches.
