The call for submissions to the 2025 National Age Friendly Recognition and Achievement awards is now live and the closing date is 30th May 2025.
We are excited to confirm that Galway City Council and Galway County Council are jointly hosting this year’s event in The Galmont Hotel, Galway, on Thursday, October 23rd, 2025, and therefore we are especially keen to have high-quality initiatives from Galway City and County entered in the Awards this year.
Age Friendly Ireland are seeking innovative projects from across the following range of areas that have real impact on the lives of older people and have the potential to be showcased and replicated.

- Communications
- Environment
- Community Innovation
- Housing
Shortlisted projects will be visited by the judging panel across the month of September and will be invited to Ireland’s Age Friendly Recognition and Achievements Awards ceremony in Galway in October.
