Community Hubs to be Stood Down – Clean Ups Continue

Shower head with water coming out

Following the update on Friday 7 February, Community Hub showers will cease operation in Galway City this evening (Monday 10 February).

These facilities were put in place in community centres in Westside, Knocknacarra and Renmore following Storm Éowyn. As power is now restored in Galway City and surrounding County area, these facilities will now be stood down.

Clean ups continue around Galway City, by Galway City Council and other agencies. Please continue to report any issues to the relevant authority:

  • Electrical Service - 1800 372 999

  • Telephone Pole or Cables - 1800 245 245

  • Water Supply - 1800 278 278

In an emergency, please call 999 or 112.

Galway City Council is continuing to address fallen trees and damage across the city in public areas. This may take some time, so please bear with us while works are on-going.

If you have fallen trees in your property, please consult a professional contractor in relation to removing trees safely.

Individuals should not attempt to deal with fallen or damaged trees without the input of qualified contractors/persons to avoid danger to themselves or others due to significant hazards including damaged electrical power lines.
