Due to the impacts of Storm Amy, Galway City Council pitches will be closed until further notice

Due to surface water flooding on Flood Street, diversions are now in place. There will be no access to city centre via Wolfe Tone Bridge.

Status Orange Wind Warning Issued for Galway (Storm Amy)

A Status Orange Wind warning has been issued by Met Eireann to include Galway and is valid from 14:00 Friday 03/10/2025 to 22:00 Friday 03/10/2025. A Status Yellow Wind warning for Ireland has also been issued and is valid from 12:00 Friday 03/10/2025 to 00:00 Saturday 04/10/2025.

All Galway City Council woodlands will close tomorrow (Friday 3 October), through to Saturday, pending inspections by our staff.

Spot flooding may occur throughout the city – please be mindful of other road users in areas with spot flooding, in particular pedestrians and cyclists.
