Galway City Council Architectural Conservation in partnership with the National Built Heritage Service, will host a FREE traditional building skills training day at Fahy’s Farm, Ballindooley on 19 July 2025.
The training will be delivered by Madigan Traditional Masonry and will focus on hands-on experience in the use of lime for pointing, plastering, and whitewashing of traditional buildings.

Additional Information
This initiative supports the preservation of traditional building skills, which are vital for the conservation of Ireland’s architectural heritage, in particular our vernacular heritage.
Training days like this are part of broader efforts to build capacity in the sector, and to ensure best conservation practices are maintained.
You will be required to provide your own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the training day, this includes eye protection, gloves, hi-vis vest and safety boots. Please note, participants who do not bring this equipment will not be allowed on site
A full programme for the day will be issued in advance.
Lunch / refreshments will be provided free of charge.
