NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Galway City Council proposes to make an order closing:
Galway City (Macnas Parade): From University Road to Dyke Road, St. Brendan’s Avenue, Francis Street, Eglinton Street, Williamsgate Street, Eyre Square North, Lombard Street, Abbeygate Street, Mary Street, Newtownsmith, Bridge Street, O’Briens Bridge, Dominick Street Lower, Upper Fairhill Road, Fr. Griffin Road.
Period of Closure: From 17.00PM to 20.00PM on Sunday October 25th, 2026.
Reason: To facilitate the Macnas Parade.
Localised access and access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained.
Advance signage will be in place prior to the event.
Documents can be inspected at Reception, Galway City Council, City Hall, College Road, Galway, H91 X4K8, during office hours, from 9.00am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday. Objections to the proposed temporary closure may be submitted in writing to Mr Patrick Greene, Director of Services, Galway City Council, at above address, or by email to: roads@galwaycity.ie not later than 12.00pm on Thursday 8th October 2026.
