NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Galway City Council proposes to make an order closing:
Bóthar na Long: Outbound lane only from Dock Road / Bóthar na Long junction to The Docks Car Park entrance
Period of Closure: From 7.00pm on Monday 2nd November to 4.00am on Friday 20th November 2026
Reason: Watermain installation works
Diversion Routes: Diversion route for outbound traffic from Forthill Street or Queen Street will be via Dock Road, New Dock Street, Merchants Road, Eyre Square, Prospect Hill, Bóthar Uí Eithir and Fairgreen Road
Localised access will be maintained
Access will be maintained for Emergency Vehicles.
Advance diversion signage will be in place prior to work commencing.
Documents can be inspected at Reception, Galway City Council, City Hall, College Road, Galway, H91 X4K8, during office hours, from 9.00am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday. Objections to the proposed temporary closure may be submitted in writing to Mr Patrick Greene, Director of Services, Galway City Council, at above address, or by email to: roads@galwaycity.ie not later than 12.00pm Thursday 22nd October 2026.
