Galway City Council Architectural Conservation in partnership with the National Built Heritage Service, will host a FREE, two day traditional building skills training workshop at Fahy’s Farm, Ballindooley, on 6 – 7 August 2026.
The training will be delivered by Pollard - Conservation and Restoration, and will focus on hands-on experience in the use of earth and lime for pointing, plastering, and whitewashing of traditional buildings.

Additional Information
This initiative supports the preservation of traditional building skills, which are vital for the conservation of Ireland’s architectural heritage, in particular our vernacular heritage.
Training days like this are part of broader efforts to build capacity in the sector, and to ensure best conservation practices are maintained.
You will be required to provide your own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the training day, this includes eye protection, gloves, hi-vis vest and safety boots. Please note, participants who do not bring this equipment will not be allowed on site

Lunch / refreshments will be provided free of charge.
