Galway City Council is introducing a new rent scheme for social housing tenancies, to support enhanced service delivery, maintenance, retrofits and tenancy support.
Women in Galway City are invited to participate in free self-protection and defence classes, starting in September 2025. Presented by Black Dragon Kickboxing Certified Personal Trainer and Instructor, Pete Foley, participants will learn practical techniques to boost confidence, situational awareness, and self-protection skills.
The Elected Members of Galway City Council today (Friday 13 December 2024) approved an ambitious proposal by the Local Authority to invest an additional €19.5m in the city over the next five years.
The inaugural Galway City ‘Spaces for Biodiversity’ Competition Awards was held on Tuesday 3 December at the Galway Bay Hotel. The competition is organised by Galway City Council to recognise and celebrate the efforts of residents throughout the city in putting biodiversity first in their gardens, estates, and public areas.
