Galway City Council’s Budget 2027 proposals include increased investment in incentive schemes and services intended to support local businesses, tourism and the public realm.
The Mayor of the City of Galway, Councillor Peter Keane, and Elected Members of Galway City Council participated in a moving remembrance ceremony to honour the Irish men and women who died in past wars or on service with the United Nations Peacekeeping, at the Galway City ceremony for the National Day of Commemoration in the University of Galway on Sunday 14 July 2024.

Councillor Peter Keane was elected as Mayor of the City of Galway at the Galway City Council AGM in City Hall on Friday 21 June 2024. Councillor Níall McNelis was elected Deputy Mayor.
