Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 13 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) that Galway City Council, being the Planning Authority for the City, propose to make a variation of the Galway City Development Plan 2023 – 2029 in respect of the following:
Proposed Variation No. 1 – Residential Zoned Land Tax (RZLT) - change in zoning of lands subject to existing economic activity.
It is necessary to vary the Development Plan to facilitate these changes.
A copy of the Proposed Variations, SEA (Strategic Environmental Assessment) and AA (Appropriate Assessment) screening reports are available to view and download at consult.galwaycity.ie
The public consultation period runs from Friday 28th November 2025 to Monday 05th January 2026.

These will be taken into consideration by the City Council before any decision is made with regard to the Proposed Variations. The closing date for receipt of written submissions or observations is Monday 05th January 2026 at 4pm.
