Changing Places Facility – Ladies Beach, Salthill
Galway City Council provides a Changing Places Facility at Ladies Beach, Salthill.
Changing Places facilities are designed for people with multiple and complex disabilities
whose needs cannot be met by a standard accessible toilet. They provide additional space and
specialist equipment for people who require the assistance of one or two carers or assistants.
The facility includes:
• Ceiling hoist
• Adult-sized height-adjustable changing bench
• Accessible toilet
• Height-adjustable washbasin
• Shower facilities
• Space for carers and assistants
These facilities help ensure that people with profound and multiple disabilities can enjoy
greater independence, dignity and access to public amenities.

The Changing Places Facility is open daily from:
6:00am – 10:00pm
Access Information
Access to the facility is via a RADAR key.
Many people who require specialist accessible facilities already have a RADAR key. The RADAR
key system provides independent access while helping to ensure that the facility and its
specialist equipment remain available for those who rely on them.
