Pursuant to Policy 6.11 of the Galway City Development Plan 2023-2029, Galway City Council is pleased to publish the Joint Galway City and County Retail Strategy, prepared in partnership with Galway County Council.
The Strategy establishes a shared vision for the sustainable development of the retail sector across the Galway Metropolitan Area, supporting vibrant retail centres, economic growth, investment, and placemaking.
The Strategy will inform future variations to, and the forthcoming review of, the Galway City Development Plan and provide a clear framework to guide future retail development across the Metropolitan Area
