Galway City Honours Irish Men and Women who Died in Past Wars or on Service with UN Peacekeeping Missions

The Galway Ceremony for the National Day of Commemoration takes place in the Quadrangle, University of Galway at 11am on Sunday 13 July, with members of the public welcome to attend. The Galway remembrance ceremony takes place in conjunction with the Defence Forces and University of Galway.

The Mayor of the City of Galway, Cllr Mike Cubbard and Elected Members of Galway City Council will participate in this moving remembrance ceremony in honour of all those Irishmen and Irishwomen who died in past wars or on service with the United Nations. 

The Ceremony will be attended by members of the Defence Forces, ex-servicemen’s organisations, religious leaders, community representatives, next-of-kin of those who died in past wars or on UN service, and members of the community. 

Members of the Public are invited to attend the Galway Ceremony.

The Commemoration will be followed by a reception immediately afterwards. Car parking will be available free on site.
