Staff of GCC at VAcant and derelict homes event

On Monday 26 May, Galway City Council hosted an information evening on vacant and derelict homes, at the Harbour Hotel, Galway. The event attracted more than 200 participants eager to learn about various funding schemes and supports available to assist owners in transforming vacant and derelict properties into homes.

Galway City Council representatives provided one-to-one conversations, offering detailed information on grants for vacant and derelict properties, including SEAI grants and advice from NRG consultant; Local Authority Home Loans and Housing Grants for Adaptations for Disabled Individuals; Aid for Older People; and Mobility Aid Schemes.

The event saw significant interest in the available grants for vacant property owners.

The Vacant Home Refurbishment Grant, Buy and Renew Scheme, and Repair and Leasing Scheme, administered by Galway City Council, serve as incentives to bring vacant and derelict buildings back into residential use.
