Residents from across Galway City and County are invited to attend the Galway Together Expo, a free community event bringing together more than 50 organisations, services and support agencies dedicated to helping people stay healthy, independent, informed and connected. The event will take place at The Galmont Hotel, Galway, on Monday, 2 November 2026, with doors opening at 11am and the Expo running until 3pm.
Organised jointly by Galway City Council and Galway County Council through the Galway City and County Local Community Safety Partnerships (LCSPs), the Healthy Galway Programme, and the Galway Age Friendly Programme, the Expo will showcase a wide range of services aimed at supporting community wellbeing, safety, health and social inclusion.
Visitors will have the opportunity to engage directly with representatives from organisations including the HSE, Decision Support Service, Healthy Age Friendly Homes Programme, Garda Community Policing, Local Authority Community Teams, Webwise, the Western Regional Drug and Alcohol Task Force, and many others. Information on local supports, grants, services and community initiatives will be available throughout the day.
The event will also feature a programme of expert talks covering topics such as safer internet use from the Irish Internet Hotline, decision-making supports and future planning from the Decision Support Service, ageing and wellbeing from the University of Galway, and healthy eating and nutrition from the HSE.
Attendees can also visit a dedicated wellness area offering free taster sessions and demonstrations including Ba Duan Jin, Tai Chi, and Chair Yoga, providing practical opportunities to support physical and mental wellbeing.
As part of the Expo's focus on health and wellbeing, Croí, the West of Ireland Cardiac & Stroke Foundation will provide free rapid health checks throughout the event. Delivered by qualified nurses, the service will include blood pressure and pulse checks, lifestyle advice, risk factor management information, signposting to relevant supports, and a personal health record card. The checks take just 10 to 15 minutes, giving attendees a valuable opportunity to learn more about their cardiovascular health and access ongoing support through the Croí Nurse Support Line if needed.
Speaking ahead of the event on behalf of the Galway City and County Local Community Safety Partnerships, Cathaoirleach Andrew Reddington, Chair of Galway County LCSP, said:
"The Galway Together Expo is about bringing people and services together in one accessible space. Many valuable supports are available across Galway, but people are not always aware of them. This event provides an opportunity to meet service providers face-to-face, ask questions, and learn about resources that can help people stay safe, connected and active in their communities."
Speaking on behalf of the Healthy Galway Programme, Aisling Colreavy said:
"Good health is influenced by many factors, including social connection, access to information, physical activity and community support. Galway Together highlights the wide range of services and programmes available across the city and county that help people live healthier, more fulfilling lives. We encourage everyone to come along, explore what is on offer and discover new ways to support their wellbeing."
The Galway Together Expo reflects the strong partnership approach being taken across Galway to support healthier, safer and more inclusive communities. By bringing together statutory agencies, community organisations and local services under one roof, the event aims to make information and supports more accessible to people of all ages.
Admission is free and all members of the public are welcome.
