Galway City Council is undertaking public consultation on the provision of CCTV Cameras in public areas within Galway City.
We seek your views on the implementation of CCTV for the prevention of Littering and Illegal Dumping in the following areas:
• Fána Glas, Ballybane, Galway
• Sliabh Bán, Ballybane, Galway
Galway City Council intends to install and operate CCTV cameras for the sole primary purpose of preventing Littering and Illegal dumping and enforcement of the Litter Pollution Act, 1997, and the Waste Management Act 1996, as amended. This initiative will adhere to the Codes of Practice for the Operation of CCTV for the Purposes of Prevention, Detection & Prosecution of Litter and Waste Offences.
Submissions or observations with respect to the proposed scheme may be made in writing to the Environment Department, Galway City Council, City Hall, College Rd, Galway, H91 X4K8.
