Galway City Council has appointed a contractor to carry out the fit out of its new administrative headquarters at Crown Square on the Monivea Road, with work due to begin in the coming weeks.
Mayor of the City of Galway, Cllr Mike Cubbard led out the celebrations in honour of Anne Quinn, who recently celebrated fifty years of service as a school warden for Galway City Council.

The Elected Members of Galway City Council this week (Monday 24 November 2025) adopted a budget of €159,251,136, with a focus on ‘back to basics’ delivery of essential services.
Four Galway City Council projects have been shortlisted in the 22nd Annual Chambers Ireland Excellence in Local Government Awards, which recognise and celebrate the outstanding work carried out by Local Authorities all over Ireland.
Galway City Council is inviting members of the public to give their views on proposals for a new bus gate which would enhance bus services for residents in the Circular Road / Letteragh Road areas of the city. A Drop-In Public Information Event related to this proposal will be held on Wednesday, November 26.
