Galway City Council, in partnership with the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage (NIAH) at the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, has this week launched two ‘Wonder Wander’ trails – celebrating the rich history and heritage to be found in Eyre Square and the City Core.

Galway City Council is proud to announce that the newly upgraded Doughiska Skatepark has been shortlisted for an Irish Construction Excellence (ICE) Award in the Leisure or Tourism category. The nomination recognises the transformation of a well used but aging facility into a modern, inclusive and technically advanced skatepark that now ranks among the best of its kind in Ireland.

Galway City Council Extends Approved List of Newspapers for Publishing Planning Notices

Galway City Council is pleased to announce that the list of approved outlets for the publication of statutory planning notices has now been expanded to include Irish language publications, Tuairisc, and An Páipéar. This update reflects Galway City Council’s commitment to supporting the Irish language and enhancing the availability of public services through Irish.
