NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Galway City Council proposes to make an order closing:
Ballybane Road: From Monivea Road Junction to Castlepark Road Junction.
Period of Closure: From 09.30am to 16:00pm from April 20th to May 18th 2026.
Reason: Resurfacing works along Ballybane Road
Diversion Routes: Diversions will be in place via

Monivea Road (East) onto Castlepark Road to Ballybane Road,

Monivea Road (East) to Monivea Road (West),
-
Dublin Road, Michael Collins Road, Connelly Avenue, Joyces Road, Tuam Road, Bóthar na dTreabh.
Localised access and access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Advance diversion signage will be in place prior to work commencing.
Documents can be inspected at Reception, Galway City Council, City Hall, College Road, Galway, H91 X4K8, during office hours, from 9.00am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday. Objections to the proposed temporary closure may be submitted in writing to Mr Patrick Greene, Director of Services, Galway City Council, at above address, or by email to: roads@galwaycity.ie not later than 12.00PM Thursday 2nd April 2026.
