Due to planned strike action, Galway City Council offices, community centres, Galway City Museum, Town Hall Theatre and Liosbán Recycling Centre will be closed to the public on Wednesday, 14 October 2026.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Galway City Council in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 9 of the Road Traffic Act, 2004 (No. 44 of 2004), as amended, proposes to make Bye Laws in accordance with Phase 2 of the National Speed Limit Review, namely the Galway City Council Special Speed Limit Bye Laws 2026. The purpose of these Bye Laws is to implement special speed limits on public roads within the administrative area of Galway City Council.
