Féasta Fómhair: A Spectacular Dinner celebrating Halloween at St Nicholas’s Church

This October, Galway City along Ireland’s iconic Wild Atlantic Way will reclaim Samhain’s ancient Celtic origins with Gaillimh Ah-Boo!, a vibrant city-wide celebration of food, folklore, and feasting. As part of this programme, the historic St Nicholas’s Church will host Féasta Fómhair (Harvest Feast) – a one-night-only dining experience curated by acclaimed chef JP McMahon, celebrating Samhain’s traditions through food.

Civic Office Move Remains Most Economical Option

Galway City Council will hold a Special Meeting on the local authority’s new civic offices, at Crown Square on the Monivea Road on Monday 14 July. At the meeting, Council officials will reaffirm that Crown Square remains the most cost-effective solution to house staff numbers in Galway City Council – including future recruitment to deliver high priority projects crucial for the long-term development and sustainability of Galway City.

New Installation, 'Find My Tribe' at Galway City Museum

Galway City Museum is thrilled to announce the installation of brand new interactives created by Tyrone Bowes of Irish Origenes. The units were installed last week in the Surrounded by Stone gallery on the ground floor. Visitors are invited to drop in and search for up to four Irish family surnames for FREE and discover the precise origin and location of any associated placenames and castles.
