Africa comes to Galway City this May, as part of a celebration of the people, cultures and potential of this wonderful continent and all of the African communities who call Galway City home. Africa Day, takes place on Saturday 23 May.

The award-winning Climate Inspirations Festival 2026, a landmark celebration of creativity, innovation, and community action in response to the climate crisis, will take place from 24-28 June 2026 in various venues throughout Galway City.
Road Closures will be in place from 9.30am – 4.00pm, Monday to Friday from Monday April 27 for approximately three weeks. The closures will be in place on the Ballybane Road from St. James Road to the Monivea Road junction, followed by potential short closures on Monivea Road East and West at the junction of Ballybane Road.
