Galway City Council is delighted to announce the return of the Spaces for Biodiversity Competition for 2026. The initiative celebrates and promotes biodiversity-friendly private gardens, public areas, schools, and community spaces across the city.
The permitted extension of the Port of Galway will support the continued operation and expansion of core port activities, strengthening its role as a key economic asset for the city and region.
A recent survey by Galway City Council has revealed a strong appetite for affordable housing in the city. Affordable homes are properties at a reduced rate to the open market value. These schemes are open to first time buyers, fresh start buyers and other eligible buyers who cannot afford to purchase a home on its open market value.
