Road resurfacing works are nearing completion on the Ballybane Road and Castlepark Road Active Travel Scheme. The final phase involves the resurfacing of sections of the Monivea Road to the east and west of the Ballybane Road Junction. This will continue until Thursday May 21.

Road resurfacing works are nearing completion on the Ballybane Road and Castlepark Road Active Travel Scheme. The final phase involves the resurfacing of sections of the Monivea Road to the east and west of the Ballybane Road Junction. This will continue until Thursday May 21.

Road Closures will be in place from 9.30am – 4.00pm, Monday to Friday from Monday April 27 for approximately three weeks. The closures will be in place on the Ballybane Road from St. James Road to the Monivea Road junction, followed by potential short closures on Monivea Road East and West at the junction of Ballybane Road.

A commemorative plaque has been unveiled to honour a Galway soldier fatally wounded while serving on a peacekeeping mission in Lebanon over 45 years ago. 

Road Closures will be in place from 9.30am – 4.00pm, Monday to Friday, from Tuesday April 7. Bus services will be diverted away from Castlepark Road during these times.

Essential night-time roadworks will be conducted on the Cathedral side of Salmon Weir Bridge and on the Salmon Weir Bridge, on Thursday March 19.
