As part of our Local Authority Climate Action Plan (LACAP), Galway City Council continues to progress our 2030 energy efficiency and carbon reduction targets, as part of our transition to a sustainable energy future.

Melody Court Community Centre

Melody Court is a local authority estate for retired people which has a small community centre facilitating a place for the residents to meet. Pre-works, the annual usage of the building was 6,654 kWh. Undertaking these works allowed the annual energy usage of the building to be reduced by 40%. The energy upgrade works and savings consisted of:
